Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern the contractual relationship between ENGIZ Shipping & Logistics ("ENGIZ") and the merchants and customers who use its services. By using ENGIZ services, you accept these terms in full.

1. Definitions

• Merchant: any natural or legal person who contracts ENGIZ to ship e-commerce orders.
• Recipient: the end customer of the shipment.
• Shipment: the parcel handed to ENGIZ for transport and delivery.
• Cash on Delivery (COD): collection of the shipment's value in cash from the recipient and settlement with the merchant.

2. Scope of service

ENGIZ provides intra-city and inter-city shipping, cash-on-delivery, and returns management within the Arab Republic of Egypt and in accordance with the regulations of the Egyptian Postal Authority.

3. Merchant responsibilities

• Provide accurate and complete recipient details (name, phone, address).
• Accurately disclose contents, weight, and declared value of every shipment.
• Pack the shipment appropriately for its contents to prevent damage in transit.
• Not ship any items on the prohibited list.
• Pay any amounts due to ENGIZ within agreed terms.

4. ENGIZ responsibilities

• Pick up shipments and deliver them to the recipient within the agreed coverage.
• Provide digital tracking from pickup through delivery.
• Maintain confidentiality of merchant and recipient data per our Privacy Policy.
• Settle COD funds with the merchant on the agreed schedule.
• Handle complaints and returns through documented procedures.

5. Prohibited shipments

The following may not be shipped via ENGIZ:

• Explosives, flammables, or oxidizers.
• Firearms, ammunition, and dangerous bladed items.
• Narcotics and controlled substances without proper authorization.
• Currency or precious metals beyond permitted limits.
• Live animals, human organs, or infectious biological materials.
• Anything banned under Egyptian law or the regulations of the Postal Authority.

If prohibited content is discovered, ENGIZ may refuse the shipment, hand it to the relevant authorities, and hold the merchant fully liable.

6. Compensation for loss or damage

If a shipment is proven lost or damaged due to ENGIZ negligence, the merchant is compensated up to the declared value, provided that:

• The merchant declared the true value at handover.
• Proof of value is provided (invoice or receipt).
• Loss or damage is reported within 48 hours of delivery (or expected delivery).

ENGIZ is not liable for indirect damages or loss of profit.

7. Cash on Delivery and settlement

• Shipment value is collected from the recipient in cash on delivery.
• Collected funds are settled to the merchant on a weekly cycle or as agreed.
• Agreed COD service fees are deducted prior to settlement.
• If the recipient refuses delivery, the shipment is returned to the merchant; return fees apply.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement with no less than 14 days' written notice, subject to settlement of all outstanding amounts and active shipments before the termination date.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Egyptian law. Egyptian courts in Cairo have exclusive jurisdiction. Amicable resolution is preferred before resorting to litigation.

10. Changes

ENGIZ reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Merchants will be notified of material changes a reasonable period in advance.
